Educational scholarships available for community work, including many internships, service-learning experiences, practicums and work-study jobs!
University of Washington students who are engaged in service to the community in the areas of human needs/services, education, environmental initiatives, homeland security, and public safety are eligible to apply for the Students in Service program. In addition to direct service, students who are enrolled in the program will have the opportunity to work on their own growth and development.
The purpose of the Students in Service program is to meet critical community needs by engaging higher education students in service, and fostering within them an ethic of civic responsibility. Limited positions available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The Education Award amount varies, depending on the term of service. The Education Award amounts are:
300 Hour Term of Service = $ 1,000.00 Education Award (scholarship)
450 Hour Terms of Service = $ 1,250.00 Education Award (scholarship)
900 Hour Term of Service (2 year) = $ 2,367.00 (scholarship)
