Senator Barack Obama officially wrapped up the nomination after Hillary Clinton graciously bowed out of the race over a month ago. Now the hard work begins.

As tiring and combative as the primaries were, they paled in comparison to what we will have to deal with in the fall. John McCain has made it clear that he whole-heartedly disagrees with Sen. Obama about running an honest, issue-based general election campaign, so we need to be vigilant and keep an eye and an ear out for false or misleading attacks on Sen. Obama.

And most importantly, we need to draw as many Stony Brook students and staff into the Obama fold come this fall. Stony Brook University can become a hotbed of political action and support for Obama and the Democratic Party if we work for it.
