- Introducing THiNK Magazine, the new progressive magazine of Stony Brook University!
We are creating a publication whose goal is to shed light on progressive issues that relate to our campus community, as well as defend progressive positions on several key issues that affect everyone.
This is being created out of what we feel is a necessity. The Patriot serves (albeit infrequently) as a vehicle for the right, and we feel the university community should have the opportunity to read and write for a publication with an opposing view.
We will seek to provide the following:
* Well-reported and in-depth articles about progressive issues that directly relate to campus and the surrounding community, like the environmental aspect of several construction projects on campus.
* Coverage of larger, national issues that relate to the campus, like the successful Coca-Cola campaign ran by the Social Justice Alliance.
* Progressive stances on heated issues, like gay marriage, abortion, healthcare and immigration.
* An opportunity for opposing views to make the case for (or against) the aforementioned heated issues.
