Taken from the Hawaiian word kuloko, meaning local, Kuloco Clothing represents a concept that exceeds far beyond its clothing. Unlike most clothing companies that are based strictly on what you do or who you are, Kuloco is founded on where you live. We live in Ocean City, Maryland. For this reason we changed the spelling of the word and started Kuloco in our hometown. The idea of the company is that all the means of production are done according to the fashion style and lifestyle of a certain area.

Most clothing companies solely target individuality and hobby. They aim only at how you live. We go to the foundation of this by targeting where you live. Kuloco looks at style, lifestyle, culture, and society through fashion in a way that has never been done before. We use the geography and demography of an area as inspiration. We create clothing that people can identify with on a level that other companies cannot deliver. This does not mean that only people from Ocean City can wear clothing designed from there or that only Ocean City locals can design it. It just means that the people that best understand the lifestyle of Ocean City are the ones creating it. As will the people that best understand the style of New York, San Diego, Aspen, Paris, and who knows where else.

Our goal is to build our team in Ocean City and then branch out. By traveling into other parts of the world we hope to spend time with new people, in new places. We will learn how it is that they live and most importantly, how they dress. We will then set up branches of our company in those specific areas. Each branch will practically be its own company, creating clothing according to the style of its location. This will be facilitated through our funding, name, logo, and concept. As we grow, so will the variety of our style. We will find the mediums between surf culture and urban culture. We will combine one lifestyle with another through fashion. Simply put, we are creating a variety of fashion style under one brand name. A brand name that at its core reflects back on something that helps define every person: where it is you live.

The greatest aspect of Kuloco is its exclusivity. Our clothing is available only in board shops, boutiques, and the like. Our clothing will never be sold in malls and eventually you will not be able to purchase clothing directly from our website. You will have to search through the different branches and then go through their dealers. We do not mass produce either.
