The American Constitution Society of Law and Policy is a national organization of law students, law professors, practicing lawyers and others. The Society aims to help revitalize and transform the legal debate - from law school classrooms to federal courtrooms - and to counter the dominant vision of American law today: a narrow conservative vision that lacks appropriate regard for the ways in which the law affects people’s lives. The Society seeks to restore the fundamental principles of respect for human dignity, protection of individual rights and liberties, genuine equality and access to justice to their rightful, central place in American law.
The ACS chapter at the University of Virginia School of Law is the crown jewel of all the ACS student chapters, regularly sponsoring events with renowned speakers and eminent professors. If you support growing and strengthening the progressive infrastructure of this nation, educating individuals on vital policy and Constitutional issues facing our nation, and helping to shape and frame the debate over such issues, then ACS-UVA is for you!
