As mentioned above in the description section Eastern Eagle Singers have been singing/performing for the past 16 years. Many of the singers have been involved in Aboriginal cultural practices including singing prior to those sixteen years. With that said our group is a wealth of cultural knowledge, having been honoured with such duties as hosting various gatherings within Canada and the Untied States. We have passed much of this knowledge on to many Mi'kmaq powwow singers and have played an indirect but important role in the development of Eastern Canadian Powwow culture. We do have singers that are able to provide detailed workshops for interested individuals, schools, colleges, universities, organizations, and companies that may require more cultural awareness within their unique communities. We have learned over the years that cultural information regarding workshop facilitation methodology does need to change depending on the workshop participant group, age of workshop participants, and participant diversity. Our singers have provided workshops for kids enrolled in various pre-schools to top level government officals and other professionals. We even had an opportunity to perform for the Queen of England.

Some workshops we can provide but are not limited to are:

*Purpose of music in Mi'kmaq Culture.
*Evolution of powwow culture within Eastern Canada.
*Information Session regarding current powwow culture trends in Eastern Canada.
*Music and its role in the history of the Mi'kmaq people.
*Basic singing turtorials for communiity members that want to start their own Powwow Drum Group.
*Drum Keepers Workshop.
*Drum Making.(both hand drum and powwow drum).
*Ceremonial use of the Drum.
*Mi'kmaq Cultural Information Sessions.
*Sing and Play workshop(for younger ages).

We have extensive powwow experience as well having placed in larger contest powwows, hosted large well attended powwows, and even administered singing contest for different powwow committee's. Eastern Eagle is a known established powwow group within North America.

Should you be interested in booking Eastern Eagle for workshop facilitation, cultural performances, powwows or any other type of related venue please contact Nathan Sack or Brian Knockwood using the information provided in the contact information section of this facebook group page. We can also be contacted through facebook as we are both listed in the officers section in this facebook group.
