Did you major/minor in English at Wake? Are you now or will you soon be employed or in graduate or professional school? Are you a current major/minor in English and wondering what you're going to do in the real world?
We professors in the English department would like to know what our students end up doing with their degrees, both so we can feel proud of you (and ourselves for training you) and so we can boast about you to potential majors. Let's combat the stereotype that you can't do anything with an English major, or that you have to be in Calloway to get a job in the business world.
Please post your job or advanced schooling info below. Describe what you do in as much or as little detail as you want. (I may use some of your posts in future department promotional material unless you specifically ask me not to). Bonus points for saying how your major helped you get or do your job. Now that you are out in the real world, would you recommend the English major? Why?
I hope this group can also provide networking opportunities for current majors/minors as they look for work upon graduation.
Thanks!
Jessica Richard
