PROMISE: Maryland's AGEP is sponsored by the National Science Foundation, grant # 0202169.
Additional funds for activities are provided by the Council of Graduate Schools' (CGS) Ph.D. Completion Project, The UMBC Graduate School, The Graduate School at the University of Maryland College Park, the University of Maryland Baltimore's Office of Student Research, and the UMB Medical School.

PROMISE: Maryland's AGEP is an alliance of the three public research universities in Maryland, led by UMBC, dedicated to the increasing the number and diversity of Ph.D. graduates in the sciences and engineering who go on to academic careers. AGEP is a program of the National Science Foundation.
The alliance between UMBC, UMB, and UMCP encourages interaction between the university communities.

* DISSERTATION HOUSE:
For Ph.D. Candidates at UMBC, UMB, and UMCP who want to come together for group support, goal-setting, and coaching to finish their dissertations. Food, supplies, coaching, and encouragement are provided for both the weekend Dissertation House (at the PROMISE Retreat), and the week-long Dissertation House On-Campus experiences at UMBC and UMCP. Coach: Dr. Wendy Carter, Co-Facilitator: Dr. Renetta Tull.

* BRIDGE TO THE DOCTORATE FELLOWS (BD Fellows)
Both UMBC & UMCP have BD Fellows, former LSAMP Scholars who have the BD Fellowship from NSF and are a part of AGEP. LSAMP was the pre-cursor to AGEP, it is the undergrad component for "Broadening Participation in STEM Fields" as per the National Science Foundation.
