On May 21, 2007 at 4:30p, 11 students who were sitting in outside President Hennessy's office were arrested on grounds of trespassing. They were escorted to police cars as over 100 students watched and chanted in support.
We are students who are deeply upset at the University encouraging the arrest of its own students for taking a peaceful stand on the important issue of sweatshop labor and the University's role.
We ask Hennessy and the University to not circumvent the issues at hand by resorting to such cowardly tactics, and to immediately drop all charges made on the protesters.
