Firstly i would like to thank everyone that joined this group

Secondly it was sad and a very difficult decision that was made by firstly the pool committee which is made up of 4 representatives of the community councillor plus a number of other volunteer local village supporters

the difficult decision was if you want to save the pool, either the pool committee or the community council must buy the pool for £1 and then apply for grants to restore the pool themselves

following two emotional meetings with both groups the pool committee and the new community council it was felt they would like to support in principle, but they could not afford to in principle as there are huge health and safety responsibilities linked to the pool in its current state and whilst we had identified some possible grants none of them were guarenteed, and if a group purchased the pool for £1 and grant never materialised there would be serious implecations to the groups

however as stated this was an emotional decision and the pool committee needs to move forward, the county council are willing to redevelope the whole park area, with a modern splash park, a multi use sports play area, fitness trails and other items generally associated with parks, the pool committee now have to guide the county on what they would like and where they would like these aspects of regeneration and the village of hendy needs vol;unteers to come along and join the pool committee

the pool committee will be becoming a fund raising committee with an objective to see improved services and facilities in the park and hendy

if you can spare just two hours a month to help the committee make important decisions for the good of the village and to help fun raise to get the best facilities in the park then please email me or read my blog as details about the campaign can be found in my blog as they happen

here's hopping you all have a merry christmas

there's news and a first diagram of proposed regeneration of hendy park in my blog
