After months of construction and over two years of preparation, Farm Power Rexville began producing electricity on Friday evening, August 28th. Governor Gregoire signed SB 5797, allowing digesters to mix some food-processing waste with manure for greater efficiency. The video of us with sponsor Senator Mary Margaret Haugen is also posted further down the page.

After a year and a half of work, we finally broke ground on October 28th; about 140 friends, farmers, investors, politicians, and neighbors came out to the site on a beautiful afternoon. So we finally caught the attention of the green media:

The US Department of Agriculture announced its energy grants, and Farm Power was awarded $500,000!

If you check the PDF list of projects in the announcement, it shows us as the only recipient from Washington State. We're very excited, and the Skagit Valley Herald did another little story on us so other people can get excited too.
