Steven Craft A stable dollar will stabilize oil....Bush/Cheney destabilized the world hence during their administration oil quadrupled. A world without lying, war mongering, religiously intolerant Republicans will help our country become a respected world leader... and help our citizens live with less stress, not having to choose between food, gas, house payment caused by a stable dollar

Rampant oil-market speculation is taxing American families for the second year in a row. Congress must stop this unregulated speculation before rising prices derail America’s economic recovery. You can do your part to prevent a new energy bubble by telling Congress to stop oil speculation now. Greedy speculators are... pouring billions of dollars into the oil markets at your expense. These speculators buy oil contracts and then sell them to each other again and again. A barrel of oil may trade 20-plus times before it is ever used – the price goes up with each trade and consumers pick up the final tab. This speculative frenzy causes severe market volatility and threatens to undermine the government’s efforts to stimulate the fragile economy. Global oil demand has plummeted and supplies are their highest levels in almost two decades. Despite these trends, energy prices continue to rise. The only logical explanation for this disconnect from supply and demand is the return of rampant, oil-market speculation. Increased oil prices artificially raise the costs of other products including food, gasoline, transportation, and heating oil. Higher prices make it harder for families to make ends meet and for businesses to prosper. This couldn’t come at a worse time, as Americans are suffering through the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. Last summer, the threat of Congressional action brought on by public outrage helped deflate the oil bubble and return prices to reasonable levels. You can help make a difference again this year. Ask Congress to stop oil speculation now by closing known loopholes, increasing market transparency, and requiring strict limits on trading. These reforms, combined with increased domestic energy supply, exploration, alternative energy sources, and conservation will lower energy prices for all AmericansRead More

Riley Andren Ming, socialism is flawed and lacks motivation. It doesn't work no matter how nice it sounds.
This world is not a nice place to live in, I'll give it that but that's all the more reason for you to become the big dog yourself.

Today an analyst on MSNBC stated that oil tankers are being turned away because they were running out of places to put the oil. Oil tankers have resorted to transporting oil distillate to conserve volume. (Which they hardly ever do) And yet oil just topped $70 a barrel. Oil reserves are at a ten year high. Riley,
Oil speculation like every other kind of financial speculation does not create any new value to the society. By using gambling/game-like actions, the traders push prices sky high and then leave with a large sum of money as "bonus" for doing that. The difference is that oil is a commodity used in the world system ...for production and transport of physical products, someone, ordinary people like you and me. Poor starving children who cannot afford food now that prices have gone up are left to bear the consequence.

Yeah we're socialist cos we care for others. You are just a selfish moron like the AIG heads who wanted their bonus from PUBLIC funds.

Btw, I'm not American so it's not really my money. I just feel sorry for the American public who has to bear the consequence of irresponsible selfish idiots who need their Ferrari/Private jets so much that they will risk their names and family.

Good luck guys and God be with us!
