NovemBeer Just Got a 'Lil Merrier! NewVaConnects proudly presents DecemBeer!
NewVaConnects will hold it's annual fundraiser at The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center. The annual event has changed months but not it's mood. This years event has been strategically planned to be bigger and better than any event we have ever thrown and is designed to enhance your Season of Giving.
Sponsored & Hosted by The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center, DecemBeer will be held in the Roanoke Ballroom on December 11th, 2009. Entertainment for the evening will begin @ 6 pm with our announcement of NewVaConnects 2010 Charity of Choice following one of the nights music sets. Proceeds from this event will benefit a local charity.
DecemBeer will feature 3 Nationally Recorded Bands; local up and coming, MY RADIO (www.myradioband.com), Jubeus (www.jubeus.com), hailing from Richmond, but with roots in Roanoke and The Everyday Visuals (www.theeverydayvisuals.com), touring from Boston, will be headlining. Look for some tag - team sets during this concert!
DecemBeer will also feature Roanoke Railhouse Track 1 & Blacksburger on tap as well as cash bars for wine and spirits. Bar Snacks and Munchies will be provided.

What is a Pub Quiz?
Our Quizmaster presents the questions in formatted rounds of ten questions each. Teams of up to 5 receive answer sheets to record their guesses. Following each round, the team has up to three minutes to turn in their sheet for scoring. All correct answers receive a point, incorrect or partial answers receive zero points. The team with the highest point total wins the game. Each team will compete through six rounds of up to 10 questions. Each round is focused on specific topics such as general knowledge, current events, sports and pop culture. At the end of the competition, the winning team walks away with bragging rights and some sweet prizes.
Do We Have to Register a Team?
Everyone, registered or not, can enjoy the competition. As all the questions are verbal or hand- outs, guests are more than welcome to follow along. All the answers are announced following each round so you can score yourselves. You can pre-register a team by e-mailing the team name, team captain's name and the team participants to chungate@roanokechamber.org. You can also sign up the day of the event at the door or you can ask to be placed on a team if you're a single player. The fee for registration is $3/player and registration will start promptly at 5:30 PM.
I'm There! Where Do I Go and What are the Details?
We will be connecting at Flannary's Pub in Downtown Roanoke on Wednesday, November 18, 2009. Registration, networking and socializing will begin at 5:30 with the pub quiz starting promptly at 6:00.
