IMPORTANT RE: FIRST EDITION!

If you bought the book through Trafford or amazon, please note there are two corrections: page 75 (Carrot Raisin Oatmeal Cookies), please add, "1 cup (135 g) whole spelt flour" to the dry ingredients; and page 108 (Chocolate Layer Cake), add "1/2 cup (120 ml) sunflower or other light-tasting oil, preferably organic," to the wet ingredients.

So much fun on Rogers "Daytime" TV show today! Made Butterscotch Blondies. Seven minutes were over in a flash! If you're in the Toronto area, you can see it tonight at 5:00 or 11:00 on Rogers 63.

Book update! The final proof for the book is complete, and the publisher has PROMISED me that it will be available by the end of May! So far, we're still on schedule, so I'm going to believe them. Will let you all know as events unfold!

FEBRUARY 21:
After some unforeseen formatting problems with the cover file and various glitches along the way. . . the manuscript went off to the publisher yesterday! Now, it's all up to them ;). I've been told it will take about 3 months for them to get the book released, which brings us just past mid-May. I'm planning more contests and giveaways between now and then, so stay tuned!

JANUARY 15:
The manuscript is FINISHED! I'm sending this baby off to the formatter (who's doing the final layout) before passing it along to the publisher by the end of the month. All that's left is to select the photos--any suggestions??Yippee!

DECEMBER 6:
I've been tinkering with the recipe for Soy-Free, Sugar-Free, Vegan Whipped Cream over the past month. . . and finally had success! I think I've got a foolproof, not-too-fussy, recipe for incredible, light, creamy, pipe-able dairy-free whipped cream! Very excited to be able to include this one in the book.

NOVEMBER 13:
A wee setback. . . while the testing is still on track and the recipes are coming together beautifully, I just found out that the templates we'd planned to use for the recipes (ie, how they'll appear in the book) aren't available--which means we have to design them ourselves!! What this means is that now the book will likely not come out until March. But on the bright side, it will be just in time for Easter!

OCTOBER 6: The book's layout is coming together. We've decided on the look of the recipes (each will have a key to food sensitivities, letting you know if it's gluten-free, soy-free, nut-free, etc.) and are now working out the food photos! This is the tough part, but it's always fun!

SEPTEMBER 18: The book will get its ISBN this week! Yahoo!

SEPTEMBER 7: Half the book is ready!
About half the 100+ recipes are ready to go and have been written into the manuscript--I can't wait to finish the last bits of testing and get the whole manuscript ready for the printer!

I'm still aiming for end of 2008 or beginning of 2009 for the publication date.
