Art is Your Story: Taking art to the streets
all you need is ...TWO PEOPLE FOR TWO MINUTES OR TWO HOURS
WHO: everyone! …Artists, students, parents, children, people
WHAT: story telling about ART in public places
WHY: a response initiated by Queen’s Drama students and staff to the claim by Stephen Harper that ordinary Canadians don’t care about the arts, & 45 million in announced funding cuts.
How to do it: “2 people for 2 minutes”
We are inviting anyone who loves the arts to participate, ANYWHERE IN CANADA, in groups, in pairs, any way at all. It is as easy as:
1. You and a friend/daughter/colleague go to a streetcorner, park, mall or anywhere in your community.
2. One or both of you reads, sings, dances, plays the fiddle…
3. If you download the poster, the other can hold it. It says: “Art is Your Story” . You tell passers-by why you are doing this, if they ask.
4. You go home.
5. You send a photo and/or description to www.artsisyourstory.wordpress.com of what you did, and the location, or post it to the Facebook site.
That's it!
LAST DATE: Queen’s campus & Kingston, Tuesday October 14, election day.
