A Street Art Appreciation Project

We are certainly not the only ones who have noticed and appreciate the efforts of anonymous artists on our streets. This project, Creative Vandalism, is intended to promote awareness of, and boost appreciation for, the art of true creative value which surrounds us.

There is a lot of stimulating art exhibited out there on the streets, but if art is not to your cup of tea, then maybe you would enjoy some of the meaningful quotes, poetry & political messages... (read more)

LSD

"London Street-Art Design magazine is hot off the virtual press and pirating the subliminal streams of cyberspace as you read this. Celebrating the 20 year anniversary of the heyday of Acid House, and the gleaming artistic revolution on our streets, this issue weaves together the strands of the underground into a 400 page explosion of lyrical colour." - http://www.londonstreetartdesign.com/

Fringe Festival - Street Art Club

Will St Leger is going to take you on a street art super journey covering spray painting to stencils to paste ups. You could think of it as a series of dates, but that might make the whole thing a little uncomfortable. What’s not uncomfortable is becoming the next Banksy while getting to street artify a whole wall at the Bernard Shaw. There will be paint and glue everywhere. But not unless you snap up one of only 20 places for this super cool, super hot, totally unsupercilious club.

The Antics Rogue Show

An anarchic art show where a crew of street artists rework crap suburban paintings into urban masterpieces.
"I really enjoyed this year’s fringe show, it was so easy going and unpretentious. The location of the show was a back alley studio and indie gallery called RedSpace. We dressed it up with old furniture and put beer in coolers and let everyone feel at home.
I did a small intro and slagged off some of the art people brought and then our artists came down stairs and got to work, spraying, painting, sticking and stenciling on each piece. At the end we hung everything up and it all looked amazing. Thanks to everyone that came along and the talented artists that pimped the work." - http://willstleger.wordpress.com/past-shows/

Banksy Vs. Bristol Museum

Graffiti artist Banksy has unveiled his most ambitious British project to date, a made over museum in his home town of Bristol.
Staged in the council-owned City Museum and Art Gallery, Banksy v Bristol Museum was such a closely guarded secret even senior councillors were unaware of the plans, while visitors and staff were told that filming had been taking place. The exhibition features animatronics, installations and a sensory display.

!! GRAFFITI ARTISTS WANTED !!

Rap Ireland are looking for Graffiti Artwork to be designed and implemented to add extra visual impact to our studio and office. We are ideally looking for a design incorporating the original Rap Ireland Logo (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v317/bubblinindublin/RI_logo1-1.jpg), but we are asking for the artist to suggest their own concepts and take it all to the next level!

This design will be the backdrop to a number of photo opps with international and domestic artists within the Urban Music Industry. Between social networking sites, our website and our bi-monthly magazine we can offer alot of exposure. There will also be a feature article on the design in our magazine.

There is room for Rap Ireland to develop a professional relationship going forward with a graffiti artist, potentailly offering a number of future oppurtunities.

Interested applicants please send a brief design or idea description to alan@rapireland.com or alannewman84@gmail.com
