eMail Our Military (eMOM), a non-profit military support organization and Tatango, a free group SMS company, have teamed up to connect U.S. troops overseas to family and friends through text messaging.

The concept is pretty simple, with our military interface a soldier can send one text message from a computer to all their loved ones back home, updating them on events of the day, advancements and most importantly, their safety. In addition, that soldier will also have the ability to view any responses to the text messages they send directly on their Tatango account.

Military service members can create a free Tatango account with a valid military email address at http://tatango.com/partners/military
