Recently, with no budget, we created a FB group that inspired two million people to join in just over two weeks. The group: "I Bet We Can Find 1,000,000 People who Support Same Sex Marriage". Our goal: equal marriage everywhere around the world.

We are now seeking people to join our leadership team in this group. Videographers, photographers, writers, activists, film-makers, retirees, lawyers, accountants, students most welcome! In exchange for helping out with our YES, Love Wins! Campaign for Same Sex Marriage Equality , program participants will get free on-line international leadership summits with great people from around the world.

Wow, I have a lot to learn. I've never single-handedly* led a group of over two million people before. If you know anyone who has, I'd love to talk with them. Why I created this group...

1) fun
2) creating justice
3) empowering our community
4) to spite my parents (just joking!)
5) creating a sense of belonging and community for people
6) love
7) commemorating my cousin Ted, who lost his life as a young man struggling to come out. He was the sweetest, smartest, gentlest man I knew and I still miss him a LOT.
8) empowering queer youth and saving lives of kids like Ted by creating LGBTA-friendly (Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans and Allied) jobs that in turn empower our community

*Here's the challenge... The "Add Admin" function still isn't working on this site, maybe because it's so huge, and there's only one of me and over 2 million members. I've donated countless hours keeping it supportive & respectful, but new stuff comes up every few seconds.

In Canada, WE WON same sex marriage equality in 2005. What did it lead to? Dancing. Tears of joy. Great celebrations. Laugther. Big parties. Loving people of all sexual orientations eating together. Great food. Hugs. Pride. Commitment. Men mentioning their husbands. Women mentioning their wives. Respect. Same sex couples walking down the streets holding hands, with their heads held high. Smiles. Belonging. Love. Yes, love triumphs!

A recent study by OUTstanding Lives * (wwww.OUTstandingKLives.CA ) found that the number one challenge facing same-sex relationships is the lack of social support. Together, we can change that. Dare to dream of a world of equal marriage everywhere! If we can believe it, we can achieve it.

YOU Deserve Love

Note: Here's an open letter to a guy on this site who was posting homophobic comments. Feel free to copy and/or use variations of it if you see any more comments like that* ...

Hon, I hope you learn to accept yourself...then maybe you'll learn to accept gays & lesbians, too. You can triumph over homophobia and self-hatred. I did. Now I've learned to accept myself fully, I have a GREAT life!

You deserve love, my friend. That begins with self-love.
Psychological research shows that most people (over 56%) have felt attracted to people of the same sex. Many people who feel very uncomfortable with homosexuality are trying to repress their own homosexual feelings or sexual insecurities (Psychologists call this Reaction Formation).

Some people have learned bigotry from certain religious leaders who focus on power over others, not love. For these leaders, homophobia is part of a large multi-level marketing scheme (you have ten kids, who all give them money & power, and they have ten kids, who all give them money & power, and so on). Loving religious leaders, on the other hand, respect people of all races, cultures, sexual orientations, genders, etc.

I hope you will keep learning from this group. To begin, I hope you will learn to love and accept yourself. There is plenty of love for everyone.
