The Canadian Theological Society was founded in 1955 to promote theological reflection and writing in a Canadian context. As a community of theologians we draw our membership from and attempt to serve three distinct, yet interrelated, institutions - the university, the seminary, and the church.

Hello,

I am Nick Jesson, the admin for the Canadian Theological Society Facebook group. The group will be used primarily for promoting participation in the annual CTS conference at Congress.

I think that there are other purposes for a Facebook group that will become evident as we proceed. I invite you to think creatively about ways that you can network with others in the theological community. If this group is helpful for that purpose, we will have exceeded our wildest imaginations. Please feel free to share resources, reflections, and event notices with others in the group.

[I have temporarily blocked photo and video posts because I do not want to overload the group page or the members. However, if there is a desire for these services, I can re-enable them.]

There are a number of people on the group membership who are new to CTS. This is wonderful. Already I can see the advantages of using Facebook. I encourage you to extend an invitation to other Facebook users that might be interested in CTS. Use the link on the right hand menu to send invitations. (This will track all invitations, and will ensure that people do not receive multiple invites.)

You can also use the invitation link to send invitations to people who are not on Facebook. If you do so, please be prepared to assist them in connecting to Facebook and the CTS group. If they have any questions about the group's purpose they can contact me at jesson@ecumenism.net.

Blessings,

Nick
