Students from the US and Canada who are considering applying to the programme for 2010/2011 may be interested to know that BUTEX (an organisation of Study Abroad Offices in the UK) are offering a £500 scholarship to students after they have started at their host University in the UK. A message to all new Spring Study Abroad students who will be coming to the UK on a Tier 4 (General Student) Visa...the US-UK Fulbright Commission in London is seeking applicants to an internship programme in their
EducationUSA advising department, promoting and advising students on study abroad options. The part time positions would be unpaid, but offer a great opportunity to learn more about Study Abroad and can be fitted around your classes. One more date for your diaries - the University's "Christmas Carols by Candlelight" will be held at St Paul's Church in Covent Garden from 6pm on Wednesday 9 December. Entry is free and the carols will be followed by wine and mince pies. London's St Paul's Cathedral will be hosting a Thanksgiving service this year on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday 26 November from 11am. Entry is free and non-ticketed running from 9.45am to 10.30am, although there will be heavy security on the day. For more details, please visit www.stpauls.co.uk.

Applicants for next year may also like to know that a US government scheme is offering funding opportunities to students (1200 in total) from across the US looking to Study Abroad during 2009/10. All of you planning to apply to Study Abroad here next academic year (2009/10) should try to submit your application by 15 April. After that date, we are increasing our fees to £3,950 per term (sorry!) so it really is in your interests to apply as soon as possible!
