This group is dedicated to the newly opened Continental Hockey League, based for now on the territory of the former Soviet Union. At the moment it consists of last year's Russian Super League (RSL) teams plus a few clubs from the neighboring former Soviet republics of Latvia (Dinamo Riga), Belarus (Dinamo Minsk) and Kazakhstan (Barys Astana).

The KHL is a very ambitious league with plans to expand all over Europe and backed by Gazprom, the 4th largest corporation in the world, as well as other large Russian companies and municipalities.
