Description:
Public Campaign Action Fund is dedicated to sweeping reforms that put voters first in our electoral process.

We hold politicians accountable for the favors they give to special interest campaign contributors and advocate for publicly financed elections - a reform that would put voters ahead of big campaign donors.

Adam Smith What does Sen. Ted Stevens have against polar bears?

Katie Schlieper over at the Action Fund blog, has a great piece up about what campaign contributions have to do with it and how polar bears might have to start raising money to stay alive.

Check it out: http://www.campaignmoney.org/blog/2008/01/18/give-and-bear-it.

Adam Smith Well, another one down. It's a little odd though, that he's leaving only a year after being re-elected.

We're not the only ones who think this might have something to do with the new Senate ethics and lobbying rules.

Check out our analysis of Lott's resignation: http://www.campaignmoney.org/blog/2007/11/26/thanks-a-lott.

Adam Smith So what were the Republican presidential candidates really doing when not attending the Morgan State debate?

Public Campaign Action Fund's own Nancy Watzman contributed to the story.

Adam Smith Is he serious? It looks like McConnell's trying to block Kentuckians from seeing our new ad. It helps when the owners of the cable station are your donors:http://www.bluegrassreport.org/bluegrass_politics/2007/09/this-smells-rea.html.

Adam Smith Hey North Carolina!

And after some tense meetings and lots of phone calls, the North Carolina Assembly has passed HB 1517, legislation that will expand the state's full public financing program to include three Council of State races.

The bill now goes to the Governor who is expected to sign. This is exciting news!

Adam Smith

Adam Smith Tomorrow, the North Carolina House of Representatives will vote on HB 1517, the Voter Owned Elections pilot project for Council of State Races. If you're from North Carolina, call your representative at (919) 733-4111 and tell them to support HB 1517.
