(2) Annual FBSA Summit
December 12 – 14 both in London and Cambridge

This three day event will bring together 300 students from our 7 participating institutions to discuss the following topic: ‘The Idea of France and Britain in the 21st Century’. The future of the EU, economic development, loss cultural identity, economic crisis, climate change, etc, all topics will be brought forth by academics, executives, politicians, journalists and of coure by you to find and develop policy recommendations. Each workshop conclusion will indeed be reported in person to every government institutions in France and Britain. The first day will be held in London at Lancaster House and Westminster. The second day will be held in the Cambridge Union, followed by a black-tie dinner in Robinson College. Speakers so far include: Michel de Fabiani (Chairman Franco-British Chamber of Commerce and ex-CEO BP France), David Rennie (The Economist), Andrew Gamble (Head of Department of Politics at Cambridge ), Nicole Ameline (President of Groupe d’Amitie Franco-Britanique). Do not miss out on his exceptional event!

(4) French Wednesdays in London by Macadam
All year

Every two weeks, we will give you the opportunity to meet other Frenchies in London in exceptional venues with Macadam Magazine. These events gather French professionals working in an array of different sectors in London. We will be the first students to attend these networking club outings. Test your knowledge of France and Britain through the 5 senses! More details to come.

(7) Mediterranean Union Conference
Lent Term

The main directors and architects of the project will come to LSE in order to justify their efforts to bring the EU and bordering Mediterranean nations closer.


(8) Annual Conference at the Château de Breteuil, near Paris
March 12 to 13 2009

150 students from the seven schools of the FBSA will gather at the Chateau de Breteuil, the birthplace of the Entente Cordiale. Topic and speakers tbc. A sporting event will follow the next day on the campus of l'Ecole Polytechnique.


(9) Alumni Meeting at le Senat, Palais du Luxembourg (tbc)
June 25 2009

Students and alumni get together to discuss a current issue and reach conclusions on how to improve the situation. This is also a wonderful opportunity for networking in an exceptional venue in Paris, France.
