Our 2009 theme "Save Some Green" has two meanings:
1) NACA West strives to become more sustainable in our practices in planning and producing the regional conference and we ask that every NACA school and participant strives to become more sustainable at the conference and beyond as well.
2) NACA was founded on the principle philosophy of helping schools save money ("green") by conducting block booking opportunities. NACA strives to help schools save money in these tough economic times by utilizing block booking and other innovative ideas.
NACA FUNdraisers!
This year in Portland we will have so many opportunities to give back to the NACA foundation while having fun and enjoying the conference.
1) PENNY WARS -
This year, your student representatives will be pushing a special cart carrying containers representing each state (or combined states). The goal of the Penny War is to end up with the most points by the end of the conference.
2) BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE -
Instead of pushing your way to the front of each showcase, enter to win front row seats! Tickets are $1 each and they can be purchased from the student representatives.
3) SILENT AUCTION -
Bring items from your university such as sweatshirts, t-shirts, backpacks, autographed items from your school’s famous alumni, trinkets, and whatchamacallits. These items can be from your bookstore or clothing specialized for your student programming board or campus events. The cooler the item looks, the better! It is a good way to share creative ideas with other schools, while raising money for NACA scholarships. Please bring your donation with you to the Volunteer Center or the NACA booth during the first Marketplace. We need your help to make this auction successful!
SCHOOL SWAG SWAP!
School Swag Swap gives students the opportunity to network with other delegations that are involved with the conference. Delegates can bring anything they would like to swap with other schools’ delegates, such as t-shirts, buttons, stickers, trinkets, toys, pens, event marketing posters, and business cards. Email Keri at keriweinbrecht@yahoo.com to reserve your table by Oct. 29th!
See you in Portland for the next conference in November!
