(UPDATE) To read the letter that was presented to the board of trustees in December, click the following link: http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dhr789gs_11dcfrnwhn

The board has posted its response to the letter at http://nwc.nwc.edu/display/6988.

A website has been created that outlines the current concerns and provides the key memos that contain details of these issues. Visit www.nwctruth.com. Because we'd prefer that only those in the NWC community visit the site, we've made it password protected. The login is "northwestern," password "truth."

(A comprehensive and detailed letter was presented to the chairman of the board in time for the board of trustees' meeting Friday, December 12th. The letter outlined the questions and concerns that remain after all of the public statements and articles. We hope the board and leadership will consider these matters and address them appropriately. We will not be making the letter public until the end of winter break--but we will keep you updated on that front.)

We had an excellent gathering near campus on Nov. 20th that drew about 175 students, alumni, faculty, and staff. It was a time of worship, prayer, and open communication of the issues that many are concerned about. The tone of the evening was very diplomatic and represented an honest search for clarity.

We are currently assembling the questions and concerns that emerged from that meeting, along with those that have been presented over the past couple of weeks via messages and emails, and will put them into a form that we can present to the administration and leadership of NWC. There are still dozens of faculty, students, and staff who feel that they don't have a voice in the current situation on campus, and they are hoping that we will be able to stimulate some real dialogue on how this division can be addressed and Northwestern healed.

We will keep you updated on the next steps. Thanks again for your support and prayers.
