- The 2010 Castle Cape Town Tens is done and dusted and an even bigger party was had than in 2009!
With a new naming sponsor in Castle Lager, and with the likes of Canterbury and Sport24 jumping on board as kit and online partners in 2010, the second-ever Cape Town Tens literally brought the Mother City to its knees!
Of course, having big names always helps and tournament hosts Bob Skinstad and Robbie Fleck, along with Tournament Director Ron Rutland managed to lure Legends such as Tana Umaga, Tim Horan, Pat Howard and Jeremy Paul to the second-ever Tens, as 40 teams took part in the three-day tournament.
As an added bonus, the lucky Castle Cape Town Tens fans were also amongst the first folks (ever) to catch a glimpse of the CT Stadium when the Cape Town Stadium Rugby Festival took place in conjunction with the 2010 CT Tens on Day Two of the Tens.
An SA Legends selection went head-to-head with an International Legends team at the CT Stadium (the International Legends lost 5-22) and then the Stormers took on Boland in a Super 14 warm-up match - all in front of some 40,000 rugby supporters - the first (and not the last!) time the oval ball took to the Cape Town Stadium.
From there, it was back to Hamilton's for some more fun in the sun and, of course, the evening's festivities which saw, first Me and Mr Brown rock the party, before the London-based, The Lightyears, carried on with the party!
Sunday's activities were a bit muted after the massive party on Saturday, but at the end of Day Three the Maties were once again crowned as the Premier League winners, the Akkers romped to the Beer League title and the Elan SA Legends defended their Veteran League trophy.

It's Tens Time!
===================================
The 2009 Cape Town Tens went down at Hamilton RFC in Green Point this past weekend - Feb 7 and 8 - and was a MASSIVE success.
Some 5,000 people streamed into Hammies on Saturday to witness the first day's action after a very heavy opening night at the club to welcome all the teams and also our visitors from Nigeria, Ceres (!), Joburg, Pretoria, Bloemfontein, Durban, East London to name just a few and, of course welcome the various legends from across South Africa and also our special guests Eddie Evans, Kees Meeuws, Leon Lloyd and Matty Phillips from abroad.
There was, however, some great rugger on Saturday, led by bleary-eyed tournament hosts Bob Skinstad and Rob Fleck, whilst Tournament Director Ronnie Rutland even had a run for his Maritzburg-based side. Skinstad and Fleck played for the star-studded Sports Illustrated Legends team and even though they looked a professional side in their tailor-made adidas kit, the boys - led by manager Kees Meeuws - struggled a bit on the pitch!
The Saturday night produced some more fireworks in the beer tent as the London-based, The Lightyears, took control and led the party well into the early hours of Sunday morning. Some then moved the jol to Tiger Tiger in Claremont, whilst others headed elsewhere, but there were some VERY tired bodies and heads when Day Two kicked-off on Sunday.
Credit, however, must go to everyone and the games eventually managed to head towards the knockout stages in the late afternoon, with Up the Bay winning the beer league, the Maties claiming the premier league title and the evergreen Elan Legends (Senior side) claiming the silverware - or should that be the guitar strings?! - in the veterans department.
Sunday night saw The Lightyears hit the stage once again after the prize giving, which was attended (and headlined) by the lovely Miss SA Tatum Keshwar, before the party went crazy one last time to bring the curtain down on a truly amazing weekend.
