Jonathan Bove (PTC ‘05) won the 2008 Corporate Employee of the Year award and was inducted into the Campus Advantage Circle of Excellence at last Thursday’s Austin, TX annual conference for Campus Advantage, Inc. employees. Based in Denver, Bove recently traveled to Arizona and Connecticut as part of his position as National Assistant Director for Residence Life.

Katherine Robert, a “double” alumna from the Department of Communication (APR ‘07 and CMT ’08), recently landed a full-time professional position as Marketing Coordinator at the Syracuse, NY- area architectural firm of Schopfer Architects. Recently, the firm was awarded a substantial contract to design a three-story addition to the 36,000-square foot Capital Repertory Co. building in Syracuse.

Jennifer Scheffler, a 2007 Professional & Technical Communication alumna, has been accepted to the University of Minnesota’s College of Education and Human Development where she will study for her Master’s degree in Educational Administration. She begins her graduate program in September 2009. Congratulations, Jennifer!


Jill K. Reynolds (Professional & Technical Communication 1999) became engaged to Robert Galinski (RIT class of 2000) on Christmas eve.

They are planning a New Year’s Eve wedding (12/31/09).

Rob works for HSBC Bank as an Investment Banker. Jill is currently employed with Excellus BCBS as a Provider Communications Specialist for the Rochester Region.


Recent graduate Lisa Oezalpay (Advertising & Public Relations, ’08) sent us a note reporting that starting in November she will begin her professional career as the Affiliate Relations Coordinator at the Sportsman Channel in New York City. Congratulations, Lisa!

Congratulations to a double diploma holder from the Department of Communication, Katherine Robert (APR ’07 and CMT ’08) who just accepted a professional position with Terakeet Corporation. Katherine will be working in an online marketing position within the firm’s Web Strategy and Search Engine Optimization division. The Syracuse, NY based firm was recently hired to work on the Barack Obama campaign web site.

Andrea (LeBarge) West (PTC ’07) recently accepted a position with Parrone Engineering. Andrea is the East Rochester, NY firm’s Communication Specialist/Admin responsible for office coordination and providing administrative support for projects including marketing communication, press releases and newsletters. Congratulations, Andrea!

Jessica Sica-Lieber, a 2008 Advertising & Public Relations graduate, reports accepting a position as an Account Coordinator with LM&O Advertising in Arlington, VA. Jessica wrote us to say she will be working on one of the agency’s biggest accounts, The National Guard.

Chester “CJ” Shellman (Professional & Technical Communication, ’04) earned his master’s degree in Childhood Education from St. John Fisher in 2007 and today begins his professional career for the Rochester School District at School #8 teaching first grade.

Samantha Mullen (PTC ’08) has accepted a position with AEON Amity Corporation to teach English in Japan.

Kayla Zerby (PTC '05) has moved from Washington, D.C. to Newport Beach, CA. While in the nation’s capitol Kayla was a public relations professional at Hellerman Baretz. Recently relocated to California, she is now an account executive at Idea Hall, a Costa Mesa full service branding, public relations, marketing and interactive firm.

Richard Mislan (PTC ’91) earned an MS in information systems management from Ferris State University (1999) and is working on a doctorate at Nova Southeastern University. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer and Information Technology at Purdue University (West Lafayette, IN).

Anna Kradlak Miller (PTC ’96) is technical publications manager at Commut Air/Continental in North Olmstead, OH. With her husband David Miller (RIT, Science ’99) she has two daughters, Rosie and Lily.

Jennifer Ost (PTC ’07) married James Rowe on 8 March 2008. Renee Keiser (PTC ’08) was a member of the bridal party.
