"Resurrecting early sacred music in today's sacred context"
The Schola Cantorum was founded in 2005 for the purpose of reintroducing early sacred music in the liturgical context of campus ministry at WVU. A subsidiary of the Lutheran Campus Ministry at WVU, the Schola has sung a complete Lenten mass, an Advent vespers, an Advent lessons & carols, and three Passiontide complines as well as provided various propers and ordinaries for liturgies in the Chapel of Christ the King.
Based upon the success of the "Put the School Back in Schola" program connected with the Gregorian complines, the Schola hopes to expand the circle of those that love early sacred music through education and liturgical leadership.
If you like early music...if you like sacred music...if you love early sacred music, join the Schola Cantorum.
