The minimalist style of street folk produced by multi-instrumentalist Robert Ryan Speers took it's form in 2003. After playing in various punk bands for about 10 years the shift to a more quiet and peaceful, but delicate and vulnerable style was natural. Inspired by the minimalist sound of Nick Drake along with the compositions of Yann Tiersen (Amelie Soundtrack), and also listed as a favorite in Audrey Tautou's musical tastes. In 2005 the 13 song self-titled album was recorded within the month of March at Method Recordings. Using borrowed instruments from a dear friend, the melodica, and glockenspiel became the weapons of choice. This album included catchy folky tunes with a combination of many genres thrown into the mix. It included an instrumental called "disappearing forest", which foreshadowed the other instrumentals which would be written creating an important mixture to the tracklisting by offering a european flavour. In 2007 Jeffrey Kenneth Speers (Rob's older brother joined the band and the two companion albums "Don't Give It All Up For Just One Wish", and "Funeral March Of A Marionette" were released later that year. These two albums were written, recorded, mixed, and produced by Robert Ryan Speers in the months of November 2005 to April 2007, with his original artwork as well.
The evolution continues as new members Jonathon Francis Brandon III, and Maggie the piano player have joined the band. A new track by the name of "Riverside" has been exclusively released on myspace. The dancy, daring, loud, and crazy style of this song developed by Rob Speers and Jonathon Francis Brandon III foreshadows the unexpected. An EP is scheduled for release in early 2008. hoop-hah!
