Just so you know, my name is Jess, I am a 25 yr old Aussie girl. I am from a small country town in the lower part of Victoria. My church is made up mostly of older people skipping my generation or two - so I am looking to make other Catholic friends as well as hoping to encourage others to be excited about their faith, exchange prayer requests, friendship, compassionate and a listening ear.

I haven't always been excited about my faith and it is only in this past year that my faith has gone in to full bloom after gaining a deeper understanding of the Catholic Faith, the History of The Church (which is extremely important to understand!). I found it was difficult to accept all of the church's teachings and the Word of the bible if I didn't understand the background and wasn't able to answer outsider q's about my faith.

I found it hard to pray and gave God the dredges of my day -- but with help and a bit of good-nature challenging, friends inspired me to begin praying the Rosary - at first just once a week. I felt stronger in faith after a month of joining a weekly Rosary group. With the graces of the most Holy Rosary, I was able to stamp out fears, bad habits, sinful things from my life and advance closer to God's grace. I now pray the Rosary daily, offer the Prayer to St. Michael, a prayer of Health to St. Raphael the Archangel and have a deep-rooted desire to help others understand the Graces gained from Marian and other devotions.

I now enjoy praying the Rosary rather than seeing it as a labor of love. I feel closer to God, even in down times and am able to trust Him with my whole life.

I started making Rosaries as small gifts for friends and realised how much fun it was, so started creating them more often which gave me great opportunities to have time with God and has developed in to a little shop here on the internet. I think it's a great way to encourage others to pray. Having a Rosary is a must for every Catholic but unfortunately they sometimes seem more like a decoration of faith rather than a device in which to pray with.
