This is meant to be a virtual gathering place to share information about the Kuli Mela Association, which is a 501(C)(3) non-profit that helps to support and organize the various Kuli Mela events held around the world. Please share your ideas with us on how we can continue to improve the ways in which we serve our diverse and dynamic community.
What does "Kuli Mela" mean? (you may ask...)
From ancient Sanskrit:
Kuli = a member of a particular School, Family, Tribe, Community, etc.
Mela = Gathering, Festival, Celebration, Reunion, Fair, etc.
Thus "Kuli Mela" can be interpreted to include something as specific as a "School Reunion," something a little broader like "Family Festival" and something as wide open as a "Celebration of Community."
In essence, Kuli Mela is a starting point. It's up to us to give it meaning.
