ROGUE is a collective of musicians, promoters, designers and performers based out of Hitchin, Hertfordshire.
Starting out in 2006 as a tiny club night above a pub hosted by Charlie Frame, Rogue's brand of mashup eclecticism brought a cool, quirky melting pot of music, dance and visuals to please the mind and move the behind.
Rogue has now expanded to a loose group of likeminded people; producing radio shows, putting on events and releasing online blogs and 'zines.
At Rogue parties DJs are invited to play whatever they like - from roots to rave, from rock to rap. Genres are defenestrated, as underground beats bounce happily off undisputed classics. Only the shyest of wallflowers could resist moving their feet. And move they do - here we can see indie kids stepping to breakbeats, while hip-hop heads rub shoulders with punk rockers.
But Rogue is much more than your regular club night. Bands from around the country are also selected to play at weekend events, and the mix is just as varied. Nothing can be expected at a Rogue night - you could just as well watch a heavy metal band playing pass the parcel with the crowd or experience an r'n'b troop singing sweet soul music.
Rogue also supports the visual arts, with handpicked artists chosen to design a flyer for each upcoming night. Visitors are also welcome to paint their own live drawings on an open-canvas which are then projected around the venue.
