Queer Out West 89.3 fm is a community radio program made by and for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer friendly communities of Western Sydney. The program is the first DIVA nominated in 2006,2007 and DIVA winning 2007 G.L.B.T. radio show in NSW!
The program was founded as ‘Out West and Proud’ by a gay couple from out West, who believed Westen Sydney was lacking a queer voice. In 2000, following a number of casting and production changes in December 2002, the show ‘Queer Out West’ was born.
The aim of Queer Out West is to provide a forum for groups and individuals to let the local community know about various social events, fundraisers and other activities taking place in the Western suburbs.
Over the years Queer Out West has interviewed many high profile people within the gay community including Carlotta, Mitzi Macintosh, Penny Clifford, Peter Everett, Rob and David BB06 – just to name a few!
Presenters also play music (including requests) and have a lot of fun along the way. Produced by Paul, with hosts including the DIVA Awarding winning Miss Beverly Buttercup and Maxi Shield, as well as Gracie Lou.Ongoing guest presenters include Matt Vaughan from ACON, Ida Slapda & Aleks Smith.
Why not join the gang every Monday night from 10pm to Midnight for a good laugh, camp music and all the local gossip!
