About five years ago, I came across the puppy labs at Dalhousie. The puppies barking, yelping, crying to get out of their cages. There were so many of them in the cold cages of the basement labratory. If you are familiar with Dalhousie, they were in the basement of the "link" - the area underground that links the Sir Charles Tupper Building and the Medical School Admin building on University Avenue.
I was astonished that such a "reputable" university would still use animals testing. I did a lot of research, and was disgusted to find out the cruel experiments being done to animals at Dalhousie. Then I found out about the kittens having their eye lids sewn shut with a needle. This was just the start of the cruel, archaic experiments being conducted on animals.
They were drilling into kittens brains, sewing kittens eyes shut, cutting kittens eyes, beating dogs hearts being torn apart. Painful, cruel, archaic!!

Dalhousie STILL does this to puppies while they are alive:
- endotracheal intubation ( tube pushed through the mouth down into the trachea )
- thoracotomy (opening of chest and heart)
- pericardotomy
- exposing of the heart
- electrical stimulation of hearts
- dogs killed after all data collection was completed
- These experiments were performed and were approved by the institutional animal care and use committee of Dalhousie University.
- This work also was supported by the Medical Research Council of Canada, Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation, and QEII Foundation, Halifax, Nova Scotia.

This is one of the forms a student can fill out for animal testing. Note the METHODS OF EUTHANASIA section - Decapitation WITHOUT Sedation or Anesthesia. ( I know a guy at Dal who used to snap the necks of mice in the lab. Dal condoned this instead of euthanasia - sicko's. He was known as the "mice killer" at Dalhousie)
