2 May 2009 - This group was set up last year with a clear mandate, and I would like to thank all of the members of this group who helped in that cause. Although Sharon Shoesmith did not resign, I am proud to say we still played a part in her downfall. To date I have still not personally seen or heard Sharon Shoesmith say sorry for her part in the death of Baby P, and that is something that must rest on her own conscience.
I would like to ask members of this group what more we can do to move justice forward, not just for Baby P but for other children who may also be suffering in the hands of the state? Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Today Ed Balls will receive the report on the investigation into what went wrong at Haringey Council that led to death to the death of Baby P.
Will you all please join me in emailing Ed Balls asking for the findings to be released as soon as possible, and that there be no whitewash in this case. We all know the Government has form in covering up information that is embarrassing to it's cause, so please make sure Ed Balls knows we are watching and he will be judged equally if he fails to take action against those who have been found to be at fault.

I have just read that Labour Councillors in Haringey are to give their backing to Sharon Shoesmith and George Meehan after the local Lib-Dems laid down a motion for a vote of no confience into the pair.
The council's ruling Labour group has pledged to reject the said motion.
If you have the time, I would ask that you drop these Labour councillors an email asking them why they will be rejecting the motion of no confidence and why you think they are totally out of step with public opinion over this matter. You can find a list of them here;

There's quite a few of them, but even if you just choose one or two at random to email, it is still better than simply allowing them to ignore public opinion. Just remember, WE PAY THEM! WE ARE THEIR BOSS!
As always, I ask that you be civil in your wording, but firm. Don't use abusive language, but make sure they know their card is marked. Using strong and abusive language will simply give them the excuse to ignore the point we are trying to make - that justice for Baby P must be delivered.
