- For those humans who may have experienced this Australian comedy-rock band live, or who have been influenced somehow by their brief yet skullduggerous blaze of infamy that continues to infect this realm way beyond the use-by date. Well may we ask: "Izzy who?"
Izzy Foreal says: "The Zarsoffs will never die - it's just a matter of catching the undertaker each time he tries to lower the coffin into the ground, to remind him that there seems to be life in the beast still."

- The last foray for this band is their 2005 studio album 'Mixed Business' and a series of selected live performances to promote it. They did threaten, however, to never actually officially split up, and future recordings and live performances are still on the cards.
----------------------------------------------
October 2008: There are strong rumours that Izzy and Rory Zarsoff, lead guitarist with the Zarsoffs in the mid-1980s (after Smokey) are about to rehearse a band to take in some dates around southern Queensland and northern NSW. Other members might include Willy Qua on sax (he was 'Willy Zarsoff' for a brief time later in the 1980s). Rumours at this stage, but stay tuned.
---------------------------------------------
October 22, 2008: The first rehearsal with this Rory/Izzy Zarsoffs project went well, and now everyone in the lineup has a Zarsoff name: Willy (of course), Wrecksy (that's Rex the drummer), Sparky (Paul, keyboards), Rory and Izzy. Watch this space!
----------------------------------------------
Well, Wrecksy didn't make it as far as the second rehearsal, which happens on November 3, more than likely. Wrecksy is just too busy because he's so flamin good at what he does, so we'll be trying another drummer who is also flamin good but hopefully not so busy. Let's hope this version of the Zarsoffs isn't like a Qantas plane that has trouble getting off the runway.
----------------------------------------------
The November 3 blow didn't happen, so things will have to wait until towards the end of November, after Izzy & Izzy's Chick get back from a trip south to visit relatives and catch up on some PhD research. Not very Zarsoffian, but sometimes reality needs to take precedence over legend - Watch this space for more developments.
---------------------------------------------
December 1, 2008: Another rehearsal went ahead, but the supposed next drummer on the list didn't make it until everyone had packed up and gone. So, the ball is now back in Izzy's court, as Rory has exhausted all his possibilities for a drummer for this project. Izzy has a few new 'Zarsoffian' songs written, so he's contemplating just recording a new album first, then getting this live vehicle on the road after that. However, that's just a vague plan at this stage, so more rehearsals may yet occur. "It was much easier the first time around to put this on the road, I swear," says Izzy.
----------------------------------------------
Late December 2008: Pete Jaggle, the drummer who plays with Izzy in the Hillbilly Blues Bandits and is Director of the Young Drums percussion ensemble (amongst other extremely worthy projects), now has a CD with the material for the Zarsoffs mini-tour idea, and negotiations are under way to organize a rehearsal early in 2009. Everybody is busy with other projects, of course, including Izzy, but this Zarsoffs project remains on the board and may yet find its wings.
