This is a facebook group for York University students interested in joining a class action lawsuit against York University to reimburse you for your tuition, books, lost wages and any other related costs due to the strike.

York University takes our money in exchange for providing a service, namely our education, and then fails to complete the transaction by allowing third parties to hijack our education.

York university is legally bound to honour their contract with students, and this situation is no different than any other transaction you engage in.

THE FACTS:

York university entered into a legal contract with you the student on the day you enrolled and paid your tuition. Logically, and fairly, this would amount to FULL REIMBURSEMENT of what you paid, including any and all out-of-pocket expenses incurred as a result (residence, parking, gas, food, etc.)

BUT

The university says that they WILL NOT reimburse you for any of these things.

Instead, we will allow the judiciary to decide our fate and that of the future students that may never have to be put through this predicament because you STOOD UP for your rights. Please join us in setting a legal precedence for student rights! (read less)
