Help an innocent man clear his name.
When Johnnie was 14, he was falsely accused and unjustly convicted of a double homicide in his hometown of Peoria, Illinois. With the help of the Center on Wrongful Convictions and the support of groups like the Innocent Project, he was recently granted parole and released after 30 years in prison.
Though a free man today, society still considers Savory an ex-felon, which is why he is asking IL Governor Patrick Quinn to order DNA testing of the evidence that was used to convict him, which Peoria State's Attorney refuses to do.
Justice for Savory features commentary, analysis, and video of Johnnie's fight to clear his name. It will also enable our facebook allies to be part of Johnnie's fight.
You can help Johnnie today. E-mail IL Governor Quinn and tell him to order DNA testing on the evidence used to convict Johnnie by following this link: http://www.illinois.gov/gov/contactthegovernor.cfm
