I only recently heard about the reunion - would love to come but unfortunately, I can't make it (live in Cairns). As well as being a student there, I went on to become Secretary for 3 yrs. once I finished Junior in 1963. Principals then were Mr. Webber and Mr. John Bowen. How I remember being terrified of my once-te...achers - now I was typing exam papers for them! And printing out the exam papers on an old Gestetner with its horrible black ink in a big toothpaste like container (ruined a few dresses this way) - the counter had broken & I had to 1 .. 2 .. 3...etc. Best of luck for the celebrations.Read More

Hi Everyone
We are working very hard behind the scenes to make sure the 50th Reunion weekend on 8 & 9 August, 2009 is a huge success. Besides registering and catching up with friends from your school days, we'll have food stalls, school tours, sporting events, memorabillia, a concert to showcase the talents of our curre...nt students, Saturday night BBQ, licensed dance for over 18s, supervised social for U18s, Sunday Thanksgiving service, an Art Show, souvenirs and so much more. But to make the weekend a truly memorable event we need you, the past and present students, staff and parents of Kingaroy State High School to spread the word about the reunion and come along to catch up with friends. We have even heard from some ex KSHS'ites who now live overseas and have booked tickets to return for the reunion! Let's make their trip worthwhile and get a massive roll up of locals and Kingaroy ex-pats from all over Australia. We hope to see you in August!
Thanks

Hi there. I am very excited to be coming up with my sister Karenand our children for the 50 year reunion!
I haven't been back to Kingaroy for 20 years and have heaps of great memories growing up there.
I attended KSHS from Grade 8 in '84 - until we left Kingaroy in grade 11 in '87.
Can't wait to catch up with some old mates!

Sandy Walker Please have a look at the link that I have just posted to see the Draft Program for the 50 Year Reunion.

Damian Nicholson Wow, 618 members if you all rock up it's going to be a kickin reunion. Don't all swarm the bar at once :-)

Shirl McDonough Damn is there nobody else over 50 on facebook

I would also support the idea of setting up a system to direct people to different year groupings. Like Trevor and Barry, I was there 1975-79 (as Tracey Smith for those of you who remember me), so this 50 year celebration is, for us, the 30th year anniversary of our last year at high school!! As Trevor says, we want to get a 30 year reunion happening with as many people from that time as possible.

Trevor Evans
I agree with Baz it would be good somehow to group people into years (eg the year you were in Gr8). I was also at KSHS 1975-1979. There has been a bit of activity from some of the 75-79ers & we are hatching a plan to have a group get together (however that may work) in conjunction with the reunion weekend. I guess t...he things I would think that would make a good reunion is (1) as many people as possible know that it is on (ie multi media approach) (2) opportunity to assemble in years to make it easier to hook up on the day (3) as much memorabilia as can be collected. A couple of us have posted school photos onto our facebook pages. Would be good if we could email them to a central point & get them published on a common site for others from our year to see. These could also be used on the day (eg laptop scrolling thru at the year's assembly point) PS, I also remember Bruce, Barry and Deyan from Memberambi days.......Read More

Barry Haworth Just came across this group - looks good. With so many people on it, is there any way to organise it into years? Or even decades? I was at KSHS 1975-1979 - so I remember Bruce in the year above me.

Shirl McDonough I was there from 1968 until 1972 (I think) and would love to catch up with old friends or enemies for that matter. Maiden name Shirley Heyer. I will have to try to make the reunion.
