Fromage disco started out by Dr Disconyx and Nate B as Melbourne’s first dedicated nu disco night in 2006 featuring guest DJs from around Melbourne such as Dan Beck, Virginia Le, Dave Pham, Danni B, Dr Hysteric, Chestwig, PCP, Mike Jules, Andy Wallace, Dave Pham, Danni B, Virginia Lee, Andras Fox, Dr Hysteric, Jamie Stevens, Clint Hargreaves, PCP, Booshank,Luke Mcd, AGent 86, Neil Stafford, T-rek, Luke Brown and Ricardo Ramos and many more. From that humble beginning, Fromage landed a residency at La Di Da, with the opportunity to support many of the finest nu-disco acts in the world such as Todd Terje, Unabombers, Idjut Boys, Areoplane, Runaway, Richard Sen, Pete Herbert, joakim and more. This then led to further opportunities around Melbourne with Fromage playing regular slots at Bimbos, Sweat @ Alia, and Match bar as well as guest appearances all around town.
2008 also saw the launch of Fromage Disco as a production duo, with a string of heavily played and heavily blogged edits ranging from the Supremes to Carly Simon, Hall & Oates, First Love, Kat Mandu and Edwin Starr. With the edits generating a good buzz around disco circles, Fromage was asked to remix Vitreous ‘Guise’ EP on Aussie label Dektek Records, released in June 2009. With further originals on the way on UK imprint Needwant and Dektek Records 2009 is set to see Fromage mature in every sense of the word.
