Jim, a 76 year old resident of Buckland Brewer, has been threatened with notice to quit his allotment by the parish council.
Jim has tended his allotment for 7 years and has taken on two others, when asked to by the council, so that they did not revert to wilderness.
He has built a plastic greenhouse on the allotment to help supply his extended family with organic produce throughout the year.
The council have served notice because they refuse to grant him permission for the greenhouse. At the time of refusal, no reasons where given.
A simple request to the local parish council for a greenhouse or polytunnel has turned into a nightmare for widower Jim!
