From our regional office located on the campus of Congregation Ohav Shalom in Albany, New York, the Empire Region serves member congregations throughout New York State (except the immediate New York City metropolitan area), western Massachusetts, and southern Vermont.

Empire Region provides extensive programming, publications, consultation and other services to its congregations to support synagogue initiatives in education, youth programming, Israel awareness, administration, leadership development, policy dissemination and interpretation, and much more.

Vision Statement of the Empire Region: The Empire Region of United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism promotes a valued and meaningful Conservative Jewish life for our region's congregations, which includes promoting the role of synagogue in Jewish life and motivating Conservative Jews to perform mitzvot encompassing ethical behavior, spirituality, Judaic learning, and ritual observance.


Mission Statement of the Empire Region: The mission of the Empire Region of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism is to strengthen and serve our congregations and their members by:

Maintaining continuous communication with member synagogues and facilitating communications between member congregations.

Disseminating, developing and creating information on programs and services offered by the Empire Region and USCJ including educational, religious, tikun olam, and any other appropriate programming to meet the unique needs of all age groups of our region's congregations and their members.

Encouraging the growth of Empire Region by welcoming conservative congregations to our community.

Working in concert with other institutions and organizations of the conservative movement to promote, nurture and foster a vibrant movement within Empire Region.

Advocating and speaking for the region's congregations.

Dedicating ourselves to strengthening the connections among Empire Region, North American Conservative Jews, the Jewish People and the State of Israel.

Encouraging congregations, their members, clergy and staff to participate and support Empire Region and USCJ programs.
