September 7, 2009 - The group announces several Huskie Football Viewing Parties at Point Loma Sports Grill & Pub in Liberty Station between September 19 and December 4. Please view "events" on the right side of this page for details.

August 19, 2009 - NIU San Diego Cubs vs. Padres event was SOLD OUT! The group had 42 attendees to the reception and game as well as 18 attendees to the pre-game happy hour, including Joseph Matty, Executive Director of the NIU Alumni Association.

July 21, 2009 - Sarah Ott is added as a Director to the 2009 Board.

July 19, 2009 - The group announces a pre-game happy hour with Joseph Matty, Executive Director of the NIU Alumni Association, prior to its Cubs vs. Padres reception and game on August 19, 2009.

July 16, 2009 - Eric Ganci is added as a Director to the 2009 Board.

July 9, 2009 - Members of the group bid our Director, Elyse Mosher, a fond farewell as she embarks on a one-year journey to China to teach English. We will miss you Elyse!

May 28, 2009 - NIU San Diego Regional Alumni Group is featured in the Summer 2009 issue (page 24) of the Northern Now magazine http://www.niu.edu/Alumni/publications-northernnow.html

April 8, 2009 - The group announces a Graduation Happy Hour to toast the class of 2009 at Cafe' Japengo in La Jolla on May 12, 2009.

March 10, 2009 - The group's first informal event was a success with over 20 attendees. The first OFFICIAL San Diego event, in partnership with the Alumni Association, was announced - Chicago Cubs vs. San Diego Padres game and reception atop the Western Metal Building on August 19, 2009. February 24, 2009 - The group announces an informal meet and greet to be held at Cozymel's in La Jolla on March 10th.

February 20, 2009 - Elyse Mosher is added as a Director to the 2009 Board.

February 7, 2009 - San Diego Alumni participate in the NIU Partnerships in Education Southern California Regional Event in Huntington Beach. Co-Chairs of the group met with University Staff regarding the group's kick-off event, being planned for August.

December 18, 2008 - NIU Alumni Association announce that the NIU San Diego Alumni Group has been founded by Steve Batutis and Penny Maus, who will serve as 2009 Co-Chairs.
