Description:: The National Union party is a confederation of multiple smaller secular and religious parties that believe in the territorial integrity of the state of Israel and the security of the Jewish people. The National Union party is the only party that has consistently opposed the appeasement process begun with Oslo and predicted, years ago, that we would reach the state of bombardment that we are, unfortunately, experiencing now. While the Israeli left has raised high the banner of pragmatism, it is the National Union that has shown itself to be the only pragmatic and realistic political force at play in Israel today.

It is a sign of the integrity of the party that even as we speak, in the middle of the campaigning season, that Knesset candidate Uri Bank is serving in the reserves to defend his country. Uri is an American immigrant dedicated to land of Israel issues and in serving the English speaking population of Israel as the first "Israeli congressman" in the Knesset.

The party is headed by Yaakov "Ketzeleh" Katz, the founder of Bet El and the Arutz Sheva radio station as well as a Yeshiva network. He is a former commando and was one of Ariel Sharon's closest advisors.

The party is also led by Gen. Dr. Aryeh Eldad. Dr. Eldad served as the senior officer of the IDF medical corps and is a professor and head of the plastic surgery and burns unit at the Hadassah Medical Center hospital in Jerusalem. His father, Yisrael Eldad was a noted Israeli independence fighter and Revisionist Zionist philosopher. He was an early member and later chief ideological strategist of the Lehi. (read less)
