A gathering place created in response to the National Association of the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) report, OUT OF FOCUS-OUT OF SYNC TAKE 4 (December 2008). The report documents the dearth in representation of African Americans in the television industry. It deals with both image and administration.

Color Vision seeks to bring together people in the industry, including journalists and bloggers, with media consumers to discuss issues relevant to mass-mediated images of African Americans and other minorities. It is part of our mission to create an exchange to assist in the NAACP's efforts as well as assist key entertainment personnel in making accountable and informed decisions.

Color Vision is an independently formed group that has no direct ties to the NAACP, which means we are only arbiters. In fact, we are arbiters - a movement - inspired by change.
