139 Canadian soldiers,
1 Canadian Government diplomat,
1 Canadian reporter
2 Canadian Female Aid Workers and
1 Canadian Female Professor from the
International Rescue Committee
killed in Afghanistan.
We also remember more than 118,000 Canadians whether they be Navy, Army, Air Force or Merchant Marine, who had fallen for our country in all Wars & Conflicts, Peacekeeping & Peace Enforcing past and present.

The Canadian Forces was formed on February 1, 1968, when the Government of Canada merged the Royal Canadian Navy, Canadian Army, and the Royal Canadian Air Force into a unified structure. Commander-in-Chief of the Canadian Forces is Elizabeth II, Queen of Canada, represented by Governor General Michaëlle Jean.The CF is presently ranked 46th in size compared to the world's other armed forces, and 55th in terms of active personnel, standing at a population of roughly 65,000 Active personnel, 26,000(including 4,000 Canadian Rangers) Reserve personnel & 9,350 Supplementary Reserve personnel with a annual budget of $19.5 billion.
