Hello UH Students for Obama!

There is a group in LA who in support of Barack Obama’s message and political platform sell some of the coolest T-shirts on their site called Shirts for Obama. They have spoken directly with Obama's campaign who shared with them that a critical aspect of Obama's strategy is to register young voters.

They have teamed up with members from The Microphone Sessions who are a group of young, spirited, and politically conscious artists. This group is spearheaded by the mentor of the late rapper/actor, Tupac Shakur, and she, Leila Steinberg, has been leading this project, a movement of young people fed up with societal ills, by using poetry, rap, song, dance, and theatre. Her motto is, “You want to own the world? You want to be a star? You have to own the mic. Together, their goal is to raise $30,000 in efforts to have these artists artistically express why they stand behind Barack Obama in a music video set out to inspire young America to Barack the Vote. Anthony Bottoli of Shirts for Obama has reached out to our UH Chapter of Student for Obama to help both the cause of Shirts for Obama and The Microphone Sessions. 30% of our proceeds from each shirt sold goes to The Microphone Sessions Project. By buying a T-shirt, $3/shirt goes to our campus to either donate to Obama's campaign or to do something great for Obama on campus.
