The Rutgers AAUP - AFT is the union of Full-Time Faculty, Teaching Assistants (TA), Graduate Assistants (GA), Part-Time Lecturers (PTL), and Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) counselors at Rutgers University. Together we are over 5,500 members strong.

Our union is affiliated with two national organizations: the American Association of University Professors (AAUP), the primary institutional defender of academic freedom, tenure, and shared governance since its founding in 1915, and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), the largest union of education professionals in the country, with over 1.3 million members.
