To increase access to college for all students, we should expand need-based financial aid – specifically the Minnesota State Grant Program. That way, Minnesota can have the educated workforce needed to build future jobs and economic growth.
This group is for students, parents and anyone who thinks that the state should put more money into need-based aid for low- and middle-income families. About one out of four or 80,000 Minnesota college students currently receive this aid. Most have family incomes below $40,000 and most attend Minnesota’s public colleges and universities. But this is important for private college students too.
By putting more money into this program, students would receive larger awards and thousands more would be eligible.
