The Virtual Classroom has been updated (25th June, 2008). The new classroom comes with a number of improvements in the interface. The driving technology has also been changed from Adobe Flash to Adobe Flex. Read more here:

The free Live Class module for Moodle is now live. Moodle users can activate a “block” and an “activity” from within Moodle to schedule and launch sessions in WiZiQ’s virtual classroom. The online Virtual Classroom on WiZiQ is a free alternative to expensive conferencing tools selling as online teaching/learning software. Distinctively, the prime focus of WiZiQ has been to create a user friendly online teaching and learning platform for the educational community. A minimal but useful feature set always works better to keep things simple. Thus our virtual classroom requires no download or installation and integrates perfectly in Moodle.

Here’s what’s new in the Virtual Classroom:

More Documents: Support for Word Documents and Excel Spreadsheets.

Attendee rights: Off by default; presenter can transfer audio or video control selectively.

Two-way video: You and your attendee can share each others’ live video during the session.

Whiteboard Tools: The drawing and writing toolbar now includes a “Delete” button. “Undo” and “Redo” also added.

New Look and Feel: Panels for chat, attendee list and audio, video settings now occupy the right side.

Share Tutorials on WiZiQ

WiZiQ has now introduced content sharing for teachers and students. Members can upload PDF documents and PowerPoint presentation tutorials to share with students and build their content library. Notably, teachers have the option to upload documents as private or public, which could enable any teacher to use WiZiQ as an important meeting point for private or public discussions. More here:
